Premier League match 24/10/10

One correct prediction and one shocking result on today's post.

Stoke 1-2 Man. United
Man. United were in the tabloids all week thanks to the Wayne Rooney saga. Sir Alex Ferguson went into this game wanting a win to boost morale throughout the club. They did suffer a late setback, but they scored again 5 minutes from time. All people associated with Man. United can sleep comfortabley knowing that all Man. United's troubles -at least for now- have passed.

Liverpool 2-1 Blackburn
Liverpool fans can also sleep well after this result. Liverpool are in the relegation zone at the moment, and their last match at Anfield was a 2-1 loss to newly promoted Blackpool. At this point, Roy Hodgson(the Liverpool boss) really needed something to assure the club's new owners that he has what it takes. This win, despite an own goal from Jamie Carragher was just that.

Man. City 0-3 Arsenal
WOAH!!!!!!!! Amazing result. Arsenal must've gone to Manchester with their heads held high. There are only two ways to explain this result. First, that Man. City played 10 men for most of the game because they had a man sent off. Also, that Arsenal didn't look at Chelsea and Liverpool's results and went in there thinking and believing that they would win.

Am back in England next week so may not be able to post but I will still predict.

Arsenal 4-0 West Ham
Blackburn 0-1 Chelsea
Everton 2-1 Stoke
Fulham 1-0 Wigan
Wolves 1-3 Man. City
Man. United 3-2 Tottenham

I'm getting a little more exotic with my scorelines at this point.

Premier League matches 23/10/10

Sorry. Have been in London and was not able to reach the internet. But no matter, let's get going with the 7 games from yesterday.

Birmingham 2-0 Blackpool
I've had a knack for Balckpool from day 1. But their problem is their away record compared to Birmingham's home record. Birmingham are pretty comfortable at St. Andrews (Birmingham's stadium), and Blackpool have struggled away from home. So this was really no surprise.

Chelsea 2-0 Wolves
It's the same situation with this game as well. Stamford Bridge (If you don't know what this is look it up and smack yourself on the head) has become a fortress for Chelsea. Very few teams have left Stamford Bridge in the knowledge that they took all three points. Wolves who started this match in 18th, need to work harder to avoid relegation.

Sunderland 1-0 Aston Villa
The short and the long is that in this match, Aston Villa were unlucky. Sunderland are really starting to build up a home record. Aston Villa went into this match fresh off their draw with Chelsea two weeks ago. THE ONE GOAL THAT WAS SCORED WAS AN OWN GOAL BY DUNNE!!! I'm sorry to say that if he hadn't it would probably have been 0-0.

Tottenham 1-1 Everton
I don't blame the result. These are two very evenly matched sides despite what the table says. Tottenham and Everton have always been two neck-and-neck sides. So this result was no a surprise. I did however expect home advantage to play out in Tottenham's flavor.

WBA 2-1 Fulham
This game belonged to WBA. They did scrore an own goal. But they got back in it. WBA had really 'boing-boinged' their way up the table. They presently sit 4th in the table and with results like this, it doesn't look they're going anywhere else anytime soon. WBA have vastly improved.

West Ham 1-2 Newcastle
West Ham's season has gone from bad to worse. Smallest goal difference in the Premier league, 6 points out of a possible 27, one win this entire season, and still rooted to 20th. I don't know what's going on at West Ham. But they need to sort it out, if they want to stay up this season. Newcastle have really turned into the Premier league powehouse that they used to be.

Wigan 1-1 Bolton
Simple. When you have two very bad average sides, you get a very bad average score, 1-1.

Huge matches on 'super sunday' coming up...

Stoke 1-1 Man. United
Liverpool 2-1 Blackburn
Man. City 2-1 Arsenal

Huge predictions, but huge results?

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Premier League match 17/8/10

The runners up culminated the openers today. How did they do?

Man. United 3-0 Newcastle
Man. United won the charity shield thi season with a 3-1 win over Chelsea. They came into this game feeling pretty pumped about that. Newcastle are a newly promoted team and adjusting to life in the premier league again. Last year's runners up showed to Chelsea that they want their title back.

More matches next saturday as the premier league gets into full swing.

Arsenal 3-1 Blackpool
Birmingham 1-1 Blackburn
Everton 2-1 Wolves
Stoke 0-2 Tottenham
WBA 0-1 Sunderland
West Ham 1-0 Bolton
Wigan 0-2 Chelsea

Will it be 7/7?

Monday, August 16, 2010

Premier League match 16/8/10

Today two of the biggest teams in the premier league fought it out.

Liverpool 1-1 Arsenal
These two teams are very equally matched. I think the draw came because of this. I also think that Liverpool have improved since last season. We'll have to wait a little while before that can be confirmed. Can Liverpool break into the top 4 this season?

There are only two teams left to report on that play tomorrow. Let's predict.

Man. United 2-0 Newcastle

What will be?

Thursday, June 17, 2010

World Cup Group Stage 17/6/2010

Big results from last night's games.

Honduras 0-1 Chile
This was understandable. Chile did really well in qualifying, and Honduras scraped through on the last day. I think that Chile was the better team and I think that the win was deserved. Well done Chile. Honduras I think need to show their dominance and show that they won't be pushed over in this group.

Spain 0-1 Switzerland
WHAT!!!! Very unexpected. Spain are the favorites and Switzerland haven't been doing well in football. Spain must've been overconfident, which caused the upset. A lot of people will hope that this doesn't happen again. Can Spain recover? Anyway, WELL DONE SWITZERLAND!!!!!!!!

South Africa 0-3 Uruguay
I think that day 1 might have just been luck. There was no surprise from the result. Uruguay are a much better team than the South Africans. The Uruguayans are doing superbly well. The South Africans tried but failed. Well, there's always Brazil 2014. Will they at least take points from France in their final game?

Three more matches are coming tonight.

Argentina 2-1 South Korea
Nigeria 2-0 Greece
France 1-1 Mexico

What will happen?

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

World Cup Group Stage 15/6/2010

The First own goal of the world cup was scored today, but who scored it?

Holland 2-0 Denmark
The own goal came seconds after half-time in this game. This was actually the result that I predicted. I know what the two teams need to work on as well. Denmark need to work on defending crossess(as the own goal was a header from a cross), and Holland need to work on defending counter-attacks.

Japan 1-0 Cameroon
I thought that Cameroon would win this. Being on African soil against a team that let in two own goals in a friendly against England recently. But, Japan recovered to beat Cameroon and grab three vital points in the group of death.

Italy 1-1 Paraguay
Not an incredibly good result for the reigning world champions to start with. I guess that they do have an easy group, but it still would've been nice to win the opening game. Anyway, Italy have changed since the days of 2006. They are now an older team. As shown today, their age is starting to rub ontoi their performance.

Brazil and Portugal are in action tomorrow. Let's predict.

New Zealand 1-1 Slovakia
Brazil 5-0 North Korea
Portugal 1-0 Ivory Coast

What's gonna happen?

Monday, June 14, 2010

World Cup Group Stage 14/6/2010

A sickness prevented me from posting. But I'm back with dramatic results.

Algeria 0-1 Slovenia
This result was simply caused by the same thing that yesterday's England draw was caused by. PURE LUCK (HUGE goalkeeper error). The goalkeeper let the ball bounce past him. Slovenia will be happy to take those three points, but will their luck strike again against U.S.A. next week? Can Algeria bounce back against England?

Serbia 0-1 Ghana
This game in a way was also caused by pure luck. The game was tied for 85 minutes before a penalty was given, which Ghana happily scored. But you must also look at the fact that Ghana are a somwhat better team than Serbia. Maybe a combination of the two?

Germany 4-0 Australia
Absolute DISASTER for the Australians. They were 2-0 down at half time and then soon later, star player Tim Cahill got sent off. Germany soon scored two other goals, but their world cup hopes are at the moment in serious jeopardy. Tim Cahill out for the group stages and bottom of their group with a nasty looking goal difference. The question on the mind of every socceroos (Australia's nickname) fan tonight is, can they recover?

Ok. The holders are in action today, as well as action from the so called 'group of death'.

Holland 2-0 Denmark
Japan 0-1 Cameroon
Italy 2-1 Paraguay

I'll be returning with the results tomorrow.

Saturday, June 12, 2010

World Cup Group Stage 11/6/2010

Hi there. After a one month hiatus from posting I'm back with action from the opening day of the World Cup.

South Africa 1-1 Mexico
This opening match was bound to be a tight game. It was only because of a Rafeal Marquez(Mexico captain) goal that Mexico even forced a draw. The South Africans had home advantage and the Mexicans had the better players. So overall, it was bound for a draw anyway.

France 0-0 Uruguay
I predicted a draw for this match, but I though that there would be some goals. I think that France have been rather shaky lately, and I think that their shakiness gave Uruguay the chance to force a draw. The results mean that all four teams must bag as many points as they can in the last two matches of the group stage.

Predictions for 2 Group B matches and 1 Group A match are now coming.

South Korea 1-0 Greece
Argentina 2-1 Nigeria
England 2-0 U.S.A.

Exciting times. How will I do in my predictions?

FA cup final 16/05/10

Chelsea and Portsmouth battled well. But, who came out on top after a goaless first half.

Chelsea 1-0 Portsmouth
I saw the first half of this match before falling asleep. There was some very bad play from both sides. Kalou hit the bar when he was less than six yards away from the goal with the keeper gone. But, eventually, Chelsea won thanks to a Drogba free-kick. I thought that Chelsea should win with a bigger margian. But, they at least won.

I have decided that I'm going to be covering the World Cup as I'm staying in Bali this summer. Here are predictions for the first two matches on June 11.

South Africa 1-2 Mexico
Uruguay 1-1 France

Nerve racking matches. See ya then.

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Europa League Final 13/5/10

Fulham and Athletico Madrid looked like two evenly matched sides. But we do have a winner.

Fulham 1-2 Athletico Madrid (AET)
Fulham held Athletico Madrid all the way through normal time, and it looked like Fulham might win the match. But, as it turned out, two Diego Forlan strikes made sure that this fairytale didn't have a happy ending. Sorry about that Fulham. I hope that Fulham fight back from this and qualify for Europe next season.

The FA Cup Final takes place on Saturday. Let's predict.

Chelsea 4-1 Portsmouth

Can Chelsea win 'the double' for the first time in history?

Monday, May 10, 2010

Premier League FINALE 10/5/10

We came into this match with Chelsea within breathing distance of the title. Did they make it?

Arsenal 4-0 Fulham
Fulham have the Europa League Final coming up. They don't want to waste their players' energy and skill on a worthless match against Arsenal. Arsenal would have wanted to finish this season on a high, so they field a full-strength side. Fulham despite their loss against Arsenal have played particularly well this season. Congratulations Fulham and good luck in Hamburg at the Europa League Final.

Aston Villa 0-1 Blackburn
It's a real shame that Blackburn have finally got into great form, and it's the end of the season. Aston Villa during all their heroics this season should have finished on a good note. But, to no avail. They both did great jobs this season and Aston Villa have made it into the Europa League qualifiers.

Bolton 2-1 Birmingham
Birmingham were always bad away from home and they continued that streak up today. I think that Bolton and Birmingham are two evenly matched sides, but Bolton had home advantage. Hence, the win.

Burnley 4-2 Tottenham
It almost seems that Burnley shouldn't have been relegated after a result like this. Tottenham qualified for the Champions League. Is this a one-off for Tottanham? Let's hope so because they won't want results like this in the Champions League.

Chelsea 8-0 Wigan
WOW!!!!!!!! All they needed to do was beat Wigan, but that result confirms that they thrashed Wigan as well as claimed the title. CHELSEA ARE CHAMPIONS FOR THE 2009-10 SEASON.
They deserved it despite all their slip-ups and mistakes. WELL DONE CHELSEA. This means that Chelsea have won their 4th title and that if they beat Portsmouth in the FA cup, they win the double.

Everton 1-0 Portsmouth
I think that this result is because of the FA cup final which is coming up. I think that Portsmouth will want to rest some of thei good players. It's a bit of a shame that Portsmouth are being relegated, but we'll see new teams as well. Everton did well this season and can push for a Europa League place if they play like that all of next season.

Hull 0-0 Liverpool
This result sums up Liverpool's season. A 0-0 draw against a mediocre team that's being relegated. Liverpool need to come back next season with new threats and be a better side. if they don't, they will blend in with the rest of the other teams, rather than be in the big four. Hull also go down, but we see three new teams, among them Newcastle and WBA.

Man. United 4-0 Stoke
Man. United have been good this season, but they haven't been good enough to beat Chelsea. They've worked hard and they put up a good fight, but they lost. Maybe, they shouldn't have sold Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid. Who knows, but Man. United need to come back bigger and better next season if they want to pursue the title.

West Ham 1-1 Man. City
Well, it's kind of a shame for Man. City's dream season to end as if they hadn't bought all those good players. The old Man. City would have drawn away to West Ham. i didn't think that the new one did as well. Anyway, Man. City did overall well this season and qualified for the Europa League. WELL DONE MAN. CITY.

Wolves 2-1 Sunderland
Both of these teams did really well this season. But because of home advantage, it was Wolves that finished on a high note. But, both of these teams played surprisingly well. I thought that Wolves would be relegated this season, and they stayed up. WELL DONE WOLVES.

On Wednesday, Fulham take on Athletico Madrid in the Europa League final. Let's predict

Fulham 2-1 Athletico Madrid

It's all over. Only finals now. But, I'll be back for pre-season friendlies.

Thursday, May 6, 2010

Premier League matches 6/5/10

As the Premier League draws to a close, we still have time for shocking results to blo your mind.

Fulham 0-1 Stoke
Wow! That was unexpected. Stoke haven't had a particularly good time away from home. This result is probably just the cause of Fulham fielding a 'b team' in preperation for the Europa League final. I can't think of any other reason why they would just slip up like that to a team like Stoke.

Man. City 0-1 Tottenham
WOW! That was very unexpected. This could have been the cause of two things. One, this was a big match, Tottenham nust've prepared so well that on the day they were better than Man. City. Two, Man. City had on-loan goalkeeper Martin Fulop in goal. So it's probably the cause of one, two, both or neither.

The season finale is on Sunday. Let's predict all 10 of the last day matches.

Arsenal 3-1 Fulham
Aston Villa 2-2 Blackburn
Bolton 1-1 Birmingham
Burnley 1-3 Tottenham
Chelsea 3-1 Wigan
Everton 2-0 Portsmouth
Hull 1-2 Liverpool
Man. United 2-0 Stoke
West Ham 1-2 Man. City
Wolves 1-1 Sunderland.

The Premier League winners will be decided on sunday. Who will they be, Chelsea or Man. United?

Tuesday, May 4, 2010

Premier League match 4/5/10

The last Premier League matches are being played. What are the results?

Blackburn 2-1 Arsenal

Oh dear. Now, I expected them to draw but they were so bad that they lost, at Ewood Park(Blackburn's stadium)? That's not so good. Meanwhile, next season Arsenal need to sign some good, world-class players so that they can compete against teams like Chelsea and Man. United. This season was another Chelsea-Man. United battle. Come on Arsenal.

Wigan 2-2 Hull

The only reason that this match is important was because if Hull won it, they kept the thin shard of hope that they possess of not being relegated. Otherwise, it's not important. Wigan will travel to Chelsea for their final match of the season, Hull play host to Liverpool. All-in-all I'm not that sad to see Hull go down.

Wednesday brings the final round of penultimate matches. Let's predict.

Fulham 2-0 Stoke
Man. City 2-1 Tottenham

Very interesting predictions by me, We'll see if they are right in the next issue.

Monday, May 3, 2010

Premier League matches 3/5/10

'Super Sunday' brought super matches and super results.

Fulham 3-2 West Ham
I'm very impressed by this result from West Ham. Fulham are not a very easy team to beat if you are West Ham, particularly if the match is away from home. West Ham put up a very good fight against the Europa League finalists and they deserve to be in the Premier League next season.

Liverpool 0-2 Chelsea
I watched this match. Both teams were asleep until Drogba got the opening thanks to a very risky Gerrard backpass. Then Chelsea pumped up the volume and started to show why they deserve to be champions, this eventually brought Chelsea goal number two from Frank Lampard. All in all, Liverpool didn't play well and they really need to do something special next season to push for the title.

Sunderland 0-1 Man. United
Chelsea would have won the Premier League that night had it not been for the fact that a Nani goal in Sunderland stopped them. I wished that Sunderland could hold Man. United to a draw but 'twas not to be. I'm still confident that Man. United will not win the Premier League. This year is Chelsea's year.

Monday brings more matches leading up to the big finale day next sunday.

Blackburn 0-0 Arsenal
Wigan 1-0 Hull

How will things work out?

Sunday, May 2, 2010

Premier League matches 2/5/10

For most, today was the penultimate round of matches. How did it go?

Birmingham 2-1 Burnley
Birmingham played this match at home. As we know, Birmingham have a very good home record, and Burnley have a very bad away record. Hence the result, although I thought that Birmingham shouldn't have conceded that Burnley goal,

Man. City 3-1 Aston Villa
We've seen throughout the course of the season that Man. City are a better team than Aston Villa. Man. City are a better team. The one thing that Villa have to work on for next season is their away record so that it can match their superb home record. Man. City and Tottenham are the only two teams left in the fight for fourth now.

Portsmouth 3-1 Wolves
I didn't expect this. Wolves have been doing so well in recent matches and then they slip up at relegated Portsmouth? That doesn't make sense. Of course, Wolves are safe anyway, but it would have been nice to grab some extra points against Portsmouth.

Stoke 0-0 Everton
Stoke also have a very decent home record. They showed this against Everton. Everton also don't have the best away record. Stoke were able to hold Everton to a 0-0 draw because of this. As I said in my previous prediction, I expected a draw anyway.

Tottenham 1-0 Bolton
Tottenham kept up their part in the battle for fourth. Bolton also don't do well away from home. Someday I'd like to see Bolton get relegated, but sadly it won't be this season. I did however expect Tottenham to score more goals than one, but they at least got the three points.

'Super Sunday' brings super matches. Let's predict.

Fulham 2-0 West Ham
Liverpool 1-2 Chelsea
Sunderland 1-2 Man. United

Let's see what it shall bring.

Friday, April 30, 2010

Europa League matches 30/4/10

Sorry. Inibility to access the internet has caused the inability to post for a while, but I'm back and is there an all-english Europa League final?

Fulham 2-1 Hamburg (2-1)
This has just been a fairytale run for Fulham. They knocked out two German sides, the holders of the Europa League and a legendary Italian side on their way to the final. Fulham have pulled off miracles and should fly to Hamburg(also where the final will happen) singing 'when you believe' by Mariah Carey. Well done Fulham and I can't wait to see you in Hamburg.

Liverpool 2-1 Athletico Madrid (2-2) Athletico go through on away goal rule
Liverpool haven't had a good season at all. They went out of the FA cup, Carling cup and Champions League, they're now out of the Europa League and are 7th in the Pemier League, not even a place in next year's Europa League is guaranteed. Liverpool need to really rebuild their squad this summer and hope players like Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard don't leave.

The penulimate round of Premier League matches takes place this weekend. Here are predictions

Birmingham 2-0 Burnley
Man. City 2-1 Aston Villa
Portsmouth 1-2 Wolves
Stoke 1-1 Everton
Tottenham 3-1 Bolton

And there'll be more to come on Sunday and Monday.

Thursday, April 22, 2010

Premier League match 22/4/10

Only one premier league match.

Hull 0-2 Aston Villa
With this result, Aston Villa showed that they're still in the fight for the last Champions league spot. Aston Villa have showed that they haven't thrown in the towel yet. Hull in the mean time, have to take points off their last three games in order to ensure safety. They need three points to go level with West Ham, and if they get points Hull will need even more. Hull are in TROUBLE.
Thursday sees the first legs of the Europa League semi-finals. Predictions.

Athletico Madrid 1-0 Liverpool
Fulham 1-2 Hamburg

British teams, I'm behind you all the way.

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

Premier League match 20/4/10

Just the one Premier League match today.

Liverpool 3-0 West Ham

This was no surprise. West Ham are dangling above relegation and Liverpool are starting to develop a decent home record. The result, a nice, comfartable 3-0 win for Liverpool. Well Done Liverpool. Will West Ham be able to get enough points to survive relegation in the next three games? Who knows?

On wednesday there is a match to be played at the KC stadium.

Hull 1-2 Aston Villa

Will Hull survive relegation?

Monday, April 19, 2010

Premier League matches 19/4/10

Eight goals were scored in the two games last night, who scored how many goals?

Portsmouth 1-2 Aston Villa
Portsmouth can't beat a team like Aston Villa at home. But, they can make the amount of points that Aston Villa earn as small as possible. Unfortunately for Portsmouth, Aston Villa took all three points, as they keep their fourth place hopes hanging by a thread.

Wigan 3-2 Arsenal
This a result that will go down in Wigan's history. Arsenal led 2-0 with ten minutes to go, and Wigan score three goals in the last ten minutes to see them take a giant step towards surviving relegation. WELL DONE WIGAN!!!!!!

Only one Premier League game tomorrow.

Liverpool 3-1 Wesdt Ham

Well, is Liverpool's fourth place battle still alive?

Sunday, April 18, 2010

Premier League matches 18/04/10

One of the most unpredictable days of premier league football took place yesterday.

Birmingham 0-0 Hull
I'm shocked. You'd think that having had a good streak at home you'd be able to beat a team like Hull at home. But, this result is great for Hull who have earned a valuable point in the battle for survival. Well done Hull.

Blackburn 2-2 Everton
This result was about right. Both teams have shown that they are underdogs, but that they can shock big teams when it matters most. Blackburn and Everton will be teams to look out for next season. Well done to both teams. Sadly, I don't think either will play European football next season because of that result.

Fulham 0-0 Wolves
Wolves held Fulham to a draw at Craven Cottage(Fulham's stadium) because of the half-decent form they're on. Fulham would have won had Wolves not been on such decent form. I can see that Wolves will be in next season's Premier League. Well done Wolves for surviving the relegation drop.

Man. City 0-1 Man. United
This was pure luck. A last minute goal from Paul Scholes. Man. City just didn't hold it all together in the last few minutes. This and the Chelsea result mean that the run-in to the end of the season will be very exciting. Well done Man. United, but you haven't won the title yet.

Stoke 1-2 Bolton
Stoke should have won this. Bolton have a poor away record and Stoke have a great home record(in the FA cup at least). Bolton though have done great things under the management of Owen Coyle and Bolton will push for European football next season.

Sunderland 2-1 Burnley
Sunderland have done great things at home. They were always bound to beat Burnley, who are sadly going to be relegated at the rate that they're going at. Sunderland get the three points but, they are safe in mid-table. They can challenge for Europe next season if they're good enough.

Tottenham 2-1 Chelsea
Chelsea haven't had a good time at White Hart Lane in recent years. But it really mattered this time around and they failed to win it. The gap between them and second place Man. United is now only one point. Come on Chelsea. Tottenham have benefited from the result and now slip into fourth place in front of Man. City

Predictions for 'super sunday' include

Wigan 1-2 Arsenal
Portsmouth 1-2 Aston Villa

The battle for first and fourth place is rapidly heating up. Who will win these two big races.

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Premier League matches 15/4/10

The Premier League race got even more interesting after one result made the hopes of one candidate rather slim.

Aston Villa 2-2 Everton
These two teams are on the somewhat same form. They've both been teams that have done shockingly well this season. However, Aston Villa's hopes of 4th place have all but burnt out after this result. They need to keep winning games. If they don't, they're not even guaranteed a place in next season's Europa League let alone the Champions League.

Tottenham 2-1 Arsenal
Tottenham needed to win this match to show that 4th place was still within their grasp, they did superbly well. If it hadn't been for a late goal from Nicklas Bendter (Arsenal striker) they would have won 2-0. Tottenham have not only given Arsenal's title hopes a battering, but also make Man. City look back in fear.

Wigan 0-0 Portsmouth
Wigan are dangling by a small thread above the relegation zone. Wigan have to win matches if they want to ensure safety. I think that one win is all that's needed to ensure that Wigan play Premier league football next season. Portsmouth are already relegated, so they have the job of playing their last Premier League games and slipping other teams up.

There are seven Premier League matches on saturday, a day that could see Chelsea go seven points clear of Man. United.

Birmingham 1-0 Hull
Blackburn 2-1 Everton
Fulham 1-0 Wolves
Man. City 2-1 Man. United
Stoke 2-1 Bolton
Sunderland 2-0 Burnley
Tottenham 1-2 Chelsea.

Can Chelsea go seven points clear of Man. United?

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Mega issue 6-13/4/10

During my trip to Singapore, 2010 became a big year for the Champions League, one team became more likely to win the Premier League and an interesting FA cup final was set up.

On day 1
Barcelona 4-1 Arsenal
This match was sad for Arsenal, but a memorable one for Barcelona player Lionel Messi. It looked like Arsenal might win the tie after 19 minutes, but two minutes later, Lionel Messi scored a goal that weighed the tie in Barcelona's favor. In the 69 minutes left of the game Lionel Messi showed that he is one of the world's best players, scoring three more goals to send Barcelona through to the semi-finals. I saw the highlights, Arsenal were demolished, they deserved to go out.

On day 2
Man. United 3-2 Bayern Munich
Which meant that Man. United were the only English team left in the competition. They were without Rooney and the had to perform the not-so-easy task of beating an in-form Bayern Munich side. It proves that Wayne Rooney (Man. United's best striker) is paramount to Man. United's success and that isn't good. It also means that for the first time since 2003, there isn't any English clubs in the Champions League semi-finals.

On day 3
Liverpool 4-1 Benfica
Liverpool went into this match trying to go through having lost 2-1 in Portugal (the nation where Benfica plays). They did it superbly. If Liverpool were on the form that they had that night, all season, they would still be in contention for the Premier League. Torres was on great form and everything came into place for Liverpool. Well done Liverpool.

Wolfsburg 0-1 Fulham
Fulham have established a reputation of being this year's Europa League giant-killers. They have knocked out Shakhtar Donetsk, Juventus and now Wolfsburg. All these teams have underestimated Fulham and that has become a great advantage. Fulham have knocked out another team and Hamburg are next to face the giant-killing power of Fulham.

On day 4
No matches

On day 5
In the FA cup
Aston Villa 0-3 Chelsea

Chelsea have been on top form lately. They scored 12 goals in two matches before beating Man. United at Old Trafford. Chelsea came ready and prepared. They went to Wembley Stadium (England's national stadium) and did what they went there to do, beat them. They head through to the FA cup final.

In the Premier League
Hull 1-4 Burnley

Burnley bounced back from their defeat by Man. City(see 4/4/10) superbly well. They got a result which keeps their Premier League hopes still vaguely alive. Hull are in trouble, a win in this match could have been a big help. Instead, they were thrashed by a team no better than them. Both teams don't stand a chance of being in the premier league next season.

West Ham 1-0 Sunderland

I thought that West Ham might be dead and gone, before I saw this result. This is a great result for West Ham who are now four comfortable points above the relegation zone (the bottom three places) and will almost certainly be in the premier league next season. Sunderland should have at least taken a point off this match. Well done West Ham.

On day 6

In the FA cup

Tottenham 0-2 Portsmouth

Fulham have been the Europa League surprise package, Portsmouth have been the surprise package of the FA cup. With all of the bad news at Portsmouth in the premier league, you wouldn't expect them to do well in the FA cup. Portsmouth have done superbly well in the FA cup when the games come along. They have shocked us all and never given up. Well done Portmouth. The FA cup final is Chelsea vs. Portsmouth.

In the Premier League

Blackburn 0-0 Man. United

I would not want to be Sir Alex Ferguson (the Man. United manager) at this point in time. Missing your star striker to injury, out of the Champions League, lost to Chelsea at home, drawn at Blackburn while Chelsea have a game in hand and Man. City away next. If Chelsea win against Bolton, Man. United's title hopes are all but over. Man. United cannot afford to drop points like that.

Liverpool 0-0 Fulham

Fulham are on form at the moment. To knock Wolfsburg out of the Europa League, and then draw with Liverpool at Anfield (Liverpool's stadium), is very good. Liverpool's hopes of 4th place are slowly disappearing with results like that. They might have to settle for Europa League football next season, rather than Champions League football.

Man. City 5-1 Birmingham

Man. City deserve the final Champions League spot (4th place). They've scored 11 goals in two matches and are on excellent form as they prepare to face Man. United at home. If I were Roberto Mancini (the Man. City manager), I'd be very happy with the situation of the club. Well done Man. City.

Wolves 0-0 Stoke

I'm surprised. Wolves were on great form coming into this match, and all of a sudden they lose against a team like Stoke at home. Very surprising. Wolves should have bagged all three points from this match as they pursue premier league survival.

On day 7

No matches

On day 8

Chelsea 1-0 Bolton
Chelsea were on good form coming into this match. I think that nerves alone might have stopped them from scoring more goals against Bolton. But all the same, Chelsea now have a four point lead over Man. United. Well done Chelsea

The north London derby is the highlight of the matches that I am about to predict.

Aston Villa 2-1 Everton
Tottanham 1-2 Arsenal
Wigan 1-1 Portsmouth

Will Arsenal bag a win in the north London derby? Do Aston Villa still have a chance for fourth place? Will Wigan drop into the relegation zone?

Premier League matches 5/4/10

Results that affect the battle for 4th place and the battle for relegation are coming up on today's post.

Birmingham 1-1 Liverpool
I was always sure that Liverpool were going to draw in Birmingham. The reason being is that Birmingham are a very strong side at home. Birmingham've held three of the 'big four' teams to a draw at St. Andrews (Birmingham's stadium). Liverpool at least get a point, but the result put a huge dent in their fourth place hopes.

Everton 2-2 West Ham
WHAT?????? That doesn't make any sense. West Ham haven't won a game in ages, Everton have done superbly well at home this season, West Ham missed a penalty during the game, and they managed to leave Liverpool(The city that Everton play in) with one point. That is one thing and one thing only. VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done West Ham.

Fulham 2-1 Wigan
Wigan are hanging by a thread over the relegation zone. They need points, and they need to get off the terrible form that they're on. They'll feel that they can breathe easier if they get more points. Come on Wigan. Fulham can happily finish the premier league in mid-table, but I think that they should've done better.

I will be in Singapore for eight days starting Tuesday, so we will now predict for another MEGA ISSUE.

On day 1
Barcelona 2-1 Arsenal

On day 2
Man. United 3-2 Bayern Munich

On day 3
Liverpool 2-0 Benfica
Wolfsburg 1-1 Fulham

On day 4

Aston Villa 1-2 Chelsea

In the Premier League

West Ham 2-2 Sunderland

On Day 6

In the Premier League
Blackburn 1-1 Man. United
Liverpool 2-1 Fulham
Man. City 3-0 Birmingham

Premier League matches 4/4/10

There were a few big premier league matches today and a few big results.

Arsenal 1-0 Wolves
Arsenal were always going to beat Wolves. The question was by how much. Arsenal were without Cesc Fabregas and Wolves are on great form at the moment. I could therefore tell that Arsenal would probably only win by one goal. Wolves are still however going strong and I believe that we'll see them in the premier league next season.

Bolton 0-1 Aston Villa
Well, having lost 7-1 at Stamford Bridge (Chelsea's stadium) you'd question whether Aston Villa can recover from that. They did superbly well and they're still in the fight for fourth. Next week, they travel to Wembley stadium for the FA cup semi-finals against Chelsea. Can they beat Chelsea and make it to the final?

Burnley 1-6 Man. City
This is good for Man. City who slip into fourth place thanks to this victory(and other results). When Man. United came to Turf Moor during the first matches of the season, they lost 1-0. This shows that Man. City have bettered their Manchester counterparts at something. Burnley who are now in the relegation spots, need points. Great result for Man. City, well done for scoring 6 away from home.

Man. United 1-2 Chelsea
This is huge for Chelsea. Not only does this result put them top of the table, but for the first time since the 2004-2005 season, Chelsea have completed the double* over Man. United. Man. United who faltered the entire game were unlucky and now are two points behind the leaders, Chelsea. Does anyone want an ironic twist? In the 2004-2005 season when Chelsea completed the double over Man. United, they won the premier league that same season.

*Doing a double over a team is when a team beats another team at home and away.

Portsmouth 0-0 Blackburn
That is a very disappointing result for Blackburn, but a great one for Portsmouth. Portsmouth are doing well by at least getting one point. Every point counts when you're in the relegation zone, so well done Portsmouth. Blackburn were on such good form coming into this match, only to throw it all away at Fratton Park (Portsmouth's stadium), which has become an easy place to win games nowadays. Come on Blackburn

Stoke 2-0 Hull
As we've seen in the FA cup. Stoke have become a very strong side at home. We've also seen that Hull struggle when they're away from home. Hence a well deserved victory for Stoke. Hull now need points very badly.

Sunderland 3-1 Tottenham
Sunderland are another team that fall into the category, strong at home. Tottenham though they tried just didn't have the strength to push past Sunderland. This is bad news for Tottenham who now lose 4th place to Man. City, will they get it back?

Super sunday sees some super matches happen, let's see what might happen.

Birmingham 0-0 Liverpool
Everton 2-0 West Ham
Fulham 3-1 Wigan

See you then.

Friday, April 2, 2010

Europa League matches 2/4/10

Liverpool and Fulham represented England in last night's Europa League matches. How did they do?

Benfica 2-1 Liverpool
You would think that a result like this is a shock. But, it isn't, Benfica are a very strong team at home and probably deserved to win. Although when you find out that Liverpool took an early lead courtesy of Daniel Agger, but in the 60th minute Benfica won a penalty that was scored. In the 79th minute Jamie Carragher handled the ball in the penalty area, and Benfica knocked that second penalty past Reina and into the net. Benfica penalties two, Liverpool one.

Fulham 2-1 Wolfsburg
Fulham are doing very, very well in the Europa League. They've knocked out Juventus, Shakhtar Donetsk and have one foot in the semi-final after this win over Wolfsburg. They've done as good if not better than Liverpool in this European competition. Well done Fulham, hope to see you in the semi-finals.

Big matches in this weekend's matches. Predictions for saturday include...

Arsenal 3-2 Wolverhampton
Bolton 2-1 Aston Villa
Burnley 1-2 Man. City
Man. United 1-2 Chelsea
Portsmouth 0-1 Blackburn
Stoke 2-0 Hull
Sunderland 1-2 Tottenham

Big matches, big predictions we shall see how many are right. 'Bye till then.

Mega issue 27-31/3/10

Across the 5 days that I was in Lombok there were 5 days of action, in two competitions. Here comes the MEGA ISSUE.

On day 1
Birmingham 1-1 Arsenal
Let's start our second mega issue ever in Birmingham. Birmingham did very well to get the point and hold Arsenal. I think that the cause of the draw was that either Arsenal were focusing on their upcoming Champions League match against Barcelona (coming up) and/or that Birmingham have gotten better. Either way, well done Birmingham

Bolton 0-4 Man. United
I saw a result like this coming. Man. United are on very impressive form at the moment and it's very easy for them to beat teams like Bolton by four goals. Bolton will need more points to stay in the premier league. This match was not the one that I was most shocked about, the one that shocked me the most was...

Chelsea 7-1 Aston Villa
I'm going to say this in words in case you're a bit confused. Chelsea seven, Aston Villa one. Aston Villa are all but out of the race for fourth place after an appalling result like that. Aston Villa now join Sunderland in the group of teams that conceded seven goals at Chelsea. Come on Aston Villa. This is great for Chelsea, who now have a bigger goal difference than Man. United.

Hull 2-0 Fulham
For quite a while now, Hull have been very powerful at home. If you can remember they overpowered Man. City at home. So, a team like Fulham is going to have to work really hard to take three points away from the KC stadium (Hull's stadium). Great news for Hull who are trying hard to avoid relegation.

Tottenham 2-0 Portsmouth
Of course Tottenham were going to beat Portsmouth. The only question was by how much. Very soon these two will face off again at Wembley Stadium for the FA cup semi-final, Portsmouth have got to work had to assure that the scoreline isn't the same at Wembley. Tottenham are one step closer to Champions League football thanks to this result.

West Ham 0-1 Stoke
I want West Ham to suceed. But, they are failing miserably. Stoke have their heads nicely above water after a result like that. I think that if West Ham don't get more points, they're going to be relegated with Portsmouth this season.

Wolves 0-0 Everton
Wolves are playing very well at the moment, they are becoming very powerful. When you are very powerful you can beat teams like Everton. A great example of this was when Birmingham went on that great streak at the beginning of 2010. Go Wolves, well done.

On day 2
Burnley 0-1 Blackburn
Blackburn have put together a nice string of results. A draw at home against Chelsea, a win at home against Birmingham and a win away against Burnley. These guys will probabaly not qualify for the Europa League this season, but they deserve to. Burnley need to keep fighting to stay alive, they need points and they need them soon.

Liverpool 3-0 Sunderland
Of course Liverpool were going to beat Sundrland at home. Sunderland have a very bad away record (which included being thrashed 7-2 by Chelsea). Liverpool are on the mend and are making up for bad results before. Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Man. City will fight out a big battle for that last Champions League spot.

On day 3
Man. City 3-0 Wigan
Wigan are not good enough to beat a team like Man. City. Very few teams have suceeded at beating Man. City at home. Wigan are not good enough to join that group of teams. Man. City are making sure that the race for fourth place stays super intense.

On day 4
Bayern Munich 2-1 Man. United
Very few teams have accomplished the feat of beating Bayern Munich in Munich. Man. United tried and they are still on decently good form, but it was not to be. The good news is that if the score is 1-0 to Man. United in Manchester, Man. United head through to the next round. Come on Man. United.

On day 5
Arsenal 2-2 Barcelona
Our first and last match of the maga issue includes Arsenal. A win against Barcelona home or away is not an easy thing to do. Arsenal are a very good side. I think that they can be satisfied by the draw. Arsenal do however have a bit of an upward battle in Barcelona, fortunately, English clubs have a decent record at the Nou Camp (Barcelona's stadium).

Now, there are Europa League matches tomorrow that include...

Benfica 1-1Liverpool
Fulham 2-1 Wolfsburg

There are also big matches on saturday including the top of the table clash between Chelsea and Man. United at Old Trafford. Bye 'till then.

Thursday, March 25, 2010

League matches 24/3/10

A night of exciting action sent one team through to Wembley to face Portsmouth.

In the FA cup replay
Tottenham 3-1 Fulham
This was always going to happen. Tottenham are a much better side than Fulham. At home, Tottenham are a very difficult side to beat. Fulham cannot even dream about trying to beat Fulham at White Hart Lane. Which means that the two FA cup semi-finals include...Chelsea vs Aston Villa and Tottenham vs Portsmouth.

In the Premier League
Aston Villa 1-1 Sunderland
Really. I cannot believe that Sunderland can draw with Aston Villa at Villa Park. I think that maybe, Sunderland are getting some good results together. This might be one of those good streaks. Anyhow, Aston Villa need points in their pursuit of the last Champions League spot. Come on Aston Villa

Blackburn 2-1 Birmingham
Blackburn are another one of those teams that are doing equally well and are on great form. A win against Birmingham was expected. Birmingham need points if they want to qualify for the Europa League. Come on Birmingham, you can do better.

Man. City 0-2 Everton
I didn't see this coming. You'd think that a team that can beat Chelsea 4-2 at Stamford Bridge, can beat Everton at home, even Chelsea at least drew. This is great for Everton, but not for Man. City whose Champions League hopes are now in trouble. Well done Everton, for acheiving something that Chelsea or Liverpool couldn't achieve.

Portsmouth 0-5 Chelsea
WOW! I expected a win, but not by five goals. Chelsea who looked down and out of the title race after the draw at Blackburn have shown that they're still capable of getting good results when it counts. Portsmouth who travel to Tottenham this weekend are almost ceartainly going to be relegated.

Predictions for weekend matches include...

Birmingham 1-1 Arsenal
Bolton 1-3 Man. United
Chelsea 2-1 Aston Villa
Hull 1-2 Fulham
Tottenham 3-0 Portsmouth
West Ham 1-0 Stoke
Wolves 2-3 Everton

Bye 'till then.

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Premier League match 24/3/10

Only one match in the premier league today.

West Ham 1-3 Wolves
Wolves are on the march. They drew with Aston Villa and know have won against struggling West Ham. These are good three points to be collecting as they try to avoid relegation. West Ham are on their way down sadly. Next season, I don't think that they'll be in the premier league.

Tomorrow there are premier league matches as well as one FA cup replay. Predictions include...

In the FA cup
Tottenham 2-0 Fulham

In the Premier League
Aston Villa 2-1 Sunderland
Blackburn 1-0 Birmingham
Man. City 2-2 Everton
Portsmouth 1-3 Chelsea

By tomorrow we will know if Tottenham or Fulham are on their way to Wembley.

Monday, March 22, 2010

Premier league matches 22/3/10

Interseting results from intersesting games on 'super sunday'.

Blackburn 1-1 Chelsea
I expected Chelsea to drop points. Ewood Park (Blackburn's stadium) has never been Chelsea's favorite hunting ground. Blackburn are no easy task. Chelsea did well to get the one point. The one problem is that they slip to 3rd but with one game in hand. Come on Chelsea.

Fulham 1-2 Man. City
Man. City were always going to win this match. The only question being by how much. I really expected Man. City to win by two goals, but Fulham have been a dark horse all season long and have slipped up big teams like Man. United. Man. City did well for the three points and put the pressure on in the race for 4th place.

Man. United 2-1 Liverpool
Any other season, this would have been a very unpredictable match. This season, Liverpool are slipping up. Man. United play much better than Liverpool. This was an obvious win for Man. United, and Park Ji-Sung did well to get a goal. Well deserved glory for United.

On tuesday, West Ham take on Wolves. The prediction is...

West Ham 2-1 Wolves

Wednesday will bring FA cup replay action and Premier League games in hand. Goodbye 'till then.

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Premier league matches 21/3/10

Arsenal move to the top of the table while Tottenham boost their bid for 4th place.

Arsenal 2-0 West Ham
It was good for Arsenal to get the three points as it means that they move to the top of the table. But, I expected them to get more goals. I think that was because West Ham are improving match by match. I hope that they are not relegated at the end of the season. Well done Arsenal.

Aston Villa 2-2 Wolves
I didn't see this one coming down the tracks. Wolves were thumped 4-0 at Chelsea, Chelsea have lost at Aston Villa and yet, Wolves can still draw 2-2 there. Very impressive to get the point. I do think that Aston Villa are slowly but surely getting worse. They're fading away from any chance of 4th place. Come on Aston Villa.

Everton 2-0 Bolton
This made sense. Everton are doing very well at the moment. They are doing particularly well at home. Against a team like Bolton you'd expect them to win. They are quietly chasing European football with every win. Come on and well done Everton. Let's see you in the Europa League next season

Portsmouth 3-2 Hull
I said in my prediction that Portsmouth were going to win. The reason being is that Hull are not doing very well. They're getting worse and worse. Hull are in the relegation spots. They need points to stay alive this season. Portsmouth did very well to get the 3 points. Well done Portsmouth.

Stoke 1-2 Tottenham
They win again. This proves that Tottenham are really serious about the Champions League spots. They do their best and they get three points at Stoke. Tottenham are still in the race and frankly, them and Man. City are the favorites to win the race. Come on Tottenham you can do it.

Sunderland 3-1 Birmingham
I said that Sunderland would win too. They're very good at home and Birmingham are only getting worse. Result: a win to Sunderland. Who are getting 3 points for show. As they can not be relegated or go for Europe. Well done Sunderland. Birmingham need points for Europe. They're never going to make it if they keep losing matches.

Wigan 2-1 Burnley
Both these teams haven't been doing well. So, one of these teams was going to get the three points. Wigan obviously showed that they're finally capable of getting results at home. Well done Wigan. Burnley need points.

Predictions for 'super sunday' tomorrow

Blackburn 1-2 Chelsea
Fulham 1-3 Man. City
Man. United 1-0 Liverpool

See ya tomorrow

Friday, March 19, 2010

Europa League matches 18/3/10

I said that two English teams would be going out in my predictions. Two English teams went through in real life.

Fulham 4-1 Juventus (5-4 on aggregate)
Fulham are having a fairytale run in the Europa League. They've dumped out the holders and one of the favorites in spectacular fashion. If they play their cards right and they draw a good side for the quarter finals, they could win it. You can do it Fulham, don't give up. I never thought that anyonee could beat Juventus 4-1 let alone Fulham. Very impressive.

Liverpool 3-0 Lille (3-1 on aggregate)
Well, Liverpool are starting to pull some decent results out of the bag. They're really improving and getting stronger. They'll certainly give Tottenham, Man. City and Aston Villa a run for their money in the battle for the last Champions League place. Well done Liverpool, you're through to the quarter finals.

Premier League matches to predict for saturday include...

Arsenal 3-0 West Ham
Aston Villa 2-0 Wolves
Everton 2-1 Bolton
Portsmouth 1-1 Hull
Stoke 1-2 Tottenham
Sunderland 2-1 Birmingham
Wigan 1-1 Burnley

Seven matches. See you then.

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Premier League match and Champions League match 16/3/10

Sad news for two English teams, good news for one english team in the pursuit of Europe and a place in the Champions League.

In the Champions League

Chelsea 0-1 Inter Milan (1-3 on aggregate)
Heartbreak for Blues fans. We should've had a penalty that was denied. The Inter Milan players dived as if Stamford Bridge was a swimming pool. The referee was a bit of a bonehead. But, at the end of the day, Inter went through, nothing can change that fact. Sorry Chelsea, better luck next year.

In the Premier league

Wigan 1-2 Aston Villa
Well, it's not a shock. Aston Villa were always going to beat a struggling team on bad form like Wigan. Aston Villa, are a step closer to European football. I've been watching the premier league since the 2003/2004 season and never in the long time that I've been watching has the battle for Europe been so intense and exciting. Go on Aston Villa.

The Europa League sees two English teams in action let's predict

Fulham 1-1 Juventus (1-3 on aggregate)
Liverpool 2-1 Lille (2-2 on aggregate) Lille go through on away goal rule*.

*when the score on aggregate is tied. The team who scored the most goals away from home goes through. If, that's equal, they go to extra-time and penalties.

Let's see who can do it.

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Premier League match 15/3/10

Only one premier league match today.

Liverpool 4-1 Portsmouth
The result wasn't a surprise at all. But, I didn't think that Liverpool would do so well in getting four goals. Good job Liverpool. Let's hope that they can do as well against Lille on thursday, when the second leg of Europa League last 16 matches start. Let's hope that Portsmouth can get some points soon.

Champions League football and one premier league match tomorrow

In the Champions League
Chelsea 3-1 Inter Milan (AET)

In the Premier League
Wigan 1-2 Aston Villa

Until then. Goodbye.

Monday, March 15, 2010

Premier league matches 14/3/10

Two premier League matches, 2 interesting results.

Man. United 3-0 Fulham
This was a very predictable result. A team that is very strong at home versus a rather weak side away from home. There's nothing more to it. Although Man. United have been doing better than average recently, the secret to their win was home court advantage.

Sunderland 1-1 Man. City
The other Manchester club, didn't do so well at the Stadium of Light (Sunderland's stadium). Behind to a 9th minute goal, it took them 81 minutes to find an equalizer through Adam Johnson. I'm sorry but, when you're on the verge of a place in the Champions League, you have to win games. At this rate, Tottenham are more likely to get that last Champions League spot.

Only one match tomorrow

Liverpool 3-1 Portsmouth

And then, the Champions League on tuesday and wednesday .

Sunday, March 14, 2010

Premier League matches 13/3/10

Some very interesting results from the Premier League.

Birminghan 2-2 Everton

The last time that Everton came to St. Andrews (Birmingham's stadium), was in the FA cup, they lost 2-0. It seems that since then, Everton have improved, they've stopped being an average side, and joined the club with teams like Tottenham, Aston Villa and Manchester City. Sadly, Birminghan haven't improved, they're still two points ahead of Everton, but if they don't get points, the only direction they're going in is down. Well done Everton

Bolton 4-0 Wigan

WHAT??????? In the last five matches, Bolton have lost 4-0 not once but twice against Sunderland and Tottenham. Now, they've clocked up a 4-0 win against lowly Wigan. This could be Bolton's turning point, if they keep the points rolling in, they will be safe this season. This is not good for Wigan, they've now turned into one of those teams that are fighting for survival. Come on Wigan.

Burnley 1-2 Wolves

Really? Burnley beat Man. United at Turf Moor (Burnley's stadium). And Wolves, who are on the verge of relegation can beat Burnley away from home. It's quite unbelievable and great for Wolves, but it means that Burnley are now also in need of points. Very mysterious match. But, Wolves did well for the three points.

Chelsea 4-1 West Ham

1-2-3-4 straight past goalkeeper Robert Green. Chelsea thumped West Ham. Which is good for Chelsea because they're now at the top of the premier league table. But, it means that Chelsea inflict pain on another team. Today's team is West Ham who are know also on the verge of relegation. They (I feel like a broken record) need points if they want to stay up.

Hull 1-2 Arsenal

I didn't expect Hull to put up much of a fight. I thought that Arsenal would demolish them. Instead Hull put up a fight, scored a goal, and made Arsenal battle for the three points. Well done for that Hull. But, they still didn't win anything. They need to harness whatever was going on and implement it against a team like Sunderland. They could stay up if they tried it.

Stoke 0-0 Aston Villa

That is very impressive of Stoke to be able to hold Aston Villa to a goalless stalemate. Aston Villa are chasing Europe. If, they want to be in Europe, they need points. Goalless stalemates at Stoke are not good. Come on Aston Villa. You can do better.

Tottenham 3-1 Blackburn

The spurs (Tottenham's nickname) are on the march. If they can hold their fourth place position, they will be sailing into the Champions League. Go Tottenham. Blackburn are neither going to Europe nor going to the Championship (the league below the premier league). So, they can relax. Decent result for both sides.

Predictions are for tommorow's Premier League matches

Man. United 3-0 Fulham
Sunderland 1-2 Man. City

Until tomorow...................................................

Friday, March 12, 2010

Europa League matches 12/3/10

Last night was not a good night for English clubs in the Europa League.

Juventus 3-1 Fulham
Ok. There will be a time when people wake up and smell the roses about the fact that Fulham are just a small English team. So nobody should've expected them to win in Turin. The good news is that they got one goal. So, a 2-0 win in London sends them through to the next round (In a match is tied on aggregate in Europe, the team who scored the most goals away from home goes through). Come on Fulham, knock the Zebras out of Europe.

Lille 1-0 Liverpool
Well done French sides. On wednesday, Real Madrid's run in the Champions League came to an end thanks to Lyon. Marseille drew 1-1 with Benfica away from home and Lille have beaten Liverpool 1-0 to put pressure on the Merseysiders coming into the next leg. All in all great week for France and for French sides. Don't say I didn't warn you, Liverpool. (To get the joke, go back to the last entry on the Europa League).

Another big saturday in the premier league coming up. We're here to predict.

Birmingham 1-2 Everton
Bolton 1-1 Wigan
Burnley 1-0 Wolves
Chelsea 2-0 West Ham
Hull 0-2 Arsenal
Stoke 1-2 Aston Villa
Tottenham 3-1 Blackburn.

Seven matches. How many will be correctly predicted?

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Premier League match and Champions League match 11/3/10

Two results coming up. Neither of them fit my predictions.

In the Champions League

Man. United 4-0 AC Milan
I'm not a huge Man. United fan. But, that is very impressive of Man. United to be able to beat a good team like AC Milan 4-0. Man. United deserve to go through to the next round. They showed incredible valiance and powered past AC Milan. Well done Man. United.

In the Premier League

Burnley 1-1 Stoke
I thought that Burnley might be able to edge past Stoke because of their home advantage. But, let's remember that Stoke are a good side, and that Burnley are in the relegation spots. This might explain the 1-1 draw. Burnley are one of the many sides that need to improve if they want to be in the Premier League next season.

Predictions for tommorow's Europa League matches are coming up. They include

Juventus 2-1 Fulham
Lille 1-0 Liverpool

Big matches, big players, who will come out on top.

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Premier League and Champions League matches 9/3/10

Premier League and Champions league results that will leave your jaw dropping.

In the Champions league

Arsenal 5-0 Porto
WOW! Very impressive. In the many years that Chelsea have played Porto, we've never beaten them by five goals. This Arsenal side who stopped being too big a threat a few years ago, is finally fighting back. Arsenal go through to the next round in quite stunning style. WELL DONE ARSENAL!

In the Premier League

Portsmouth 1-2 Birmingham
What? Just this weekend, Portsmouth beat Birmingham 2-0 in the FA cup. Maybe they only care about the FA cup. Maybe they don't care about the fact that they're about to get relegated. I don't know, but as the famous Adam Lambert song wails "maybe it's time for a miracle" at Portsmouth. Come on Portsmouth.

Sunderland 4-0 Bolton
Sorry? I know that Sunderland can beat Bolton, but not by four goals. That's so wierd. Everyone is getting the craziest of results. Anyway, I don't know what happened there, but four years ago, Sunderland finished the Premier League season with only fifteen points overall. Now, they're beating Bolton by four goals.

The moral of the results of last night's matches are "ooh baby baby it's a wild world". Predictions for tonight's matches are......................

In the Champions League
Man. United 1-2 AC Milan

In the Premier League
Burnley 2-1 Stoke

Will it be 2/2.

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Premier League match 8/3/10

Only one, but a very surprising one.

Wigan 1-0 Liverpool
Now, as a Chelsea fan, I know that Wigan can beat big teams at home. But, Wigan have been on slightly bad form lately. Liverpool last time I checked were doing quite well. Well, Liverpool lose again and fall to 6th in the table. Well done Wigan.

Tommorow, the 2nd leg of two of the Champions League last 16 games(we will only report on one), and Premier League games. Predictions are coming in now.

In the Champions league
Arsenal 2-2 Porto (AET)

In the Premier League
Portsmouth 2-1 Birmingham
Sunderland 1-0 Bolton

Let's see the results of the three matches.......................Tommorow.

Monday, March 8, 2010

Premier League match and FA cup matches 7/3/10

Two more teams went through to the FA cup semi-finals at Wembley Stadium. Which two?

In the FA cup
Chelsea 2-0 Stoke
Chelsea are through to the semi finals at Wembley again. I mean, Chelsea can obviously beat a small team like Stoke at home. Some thought that Stoke might cause a surprise. But, against a good team like Chelsea, it'll never happen. Stoke must wait for one more year. Chelsea go through to the semi finals at Wembley stadium in april

Reading 2-4 Aston Villa
I predicted that this clash of the titans would end in a draw. Instead, a very interesting match saw Aston Villa comeback and end Reading's fairytale run in the FA cup. I was sure that Aston Villa were going through one way or another. The most exciting part of this report, is that Aston Villa are against................................Chelsea at Wembley stadium in april. COME ON CHELSEA.

In the Premier League
Everton 5-1 Hull
I would never have guessed that Everton could beat Hull 5-1 at home. This is great news for a Everton side that are on fire. But not, for a Hull side that need points if they don't want to be relegated. Everton, try to do better than Liverpool this year.

Only one Premier League match to predict

Wigan 1-2 Liverpool

What shall the result be?

Premier League matches and FA cup matches 6/3/10

FA cup matches complete with surprises today and premier league matches that might interest you.

In the FA Cup
Fulham 0-0 Tottenham
This wasn't too much of a surprise. Fulham have been doing quite well in all competitions recently and they're at home. Tottenham haven't been doing so well away from home. But, they still stood strong enough at Craven Cottage(Fulham's stadium) to manage a 0-0 draw. The replay is at White Hart Lane(Tottenham's stadium) on 24/3/10. Remember that day.

Portsmouth 2-0 Birmingham
If there has been one silver lining in Portsmouth's pretty bad season, it's been the FA cup. There was one week where Portsmouth were having a terrible time at the high court, yet they ended it by winning 4-1 at Southampton in the FA cup. Now, they're on their way to Wembley(the stadium where all domestic cup matches and England matches take place), whilst about to go bankrupt. It sounds a little bit like the Indian film 'get set goal'. Well done Potsmouth. Birmingham are just on a dark downward spiral.

In the Premier League
Arsenal 3-1 Burnley
Arsenal were of course going to win this match. But, you can tell a lot by how much a team wins by. For a team like Burnley, to get a goal at the Emirates stadium(Arsenal's stadium) is a very good thing. Burnley will be happy, goalwise but Arsenal take the three points.

West Ham 1-2 Bolton
I didn't know that Bolton were capable of beating a team like West Ham, away. That is pretty impressive of Bolton to have won a game like that. Bolton will be very happy to see these three points in their pocket. West Ham, have to improve if they want to stay in the premier league this season.

Wolves 0-1 Man. United
This was a bit of a surprise. I expected Man. United to win by more goals. Just one Paul Scholes goal is a little bit disappointing. Man. Unitec need to start doing a little bit better. Particularly if they want to beat AC Milan. Man. United can do way better. Wolves must improve if they want to stay up this season.

Predictions for one Premier League match and more FA cup matches for tommorow.

In the Premier League
Everton 2-0 Hull

In the FA cup
Chelsea 2-0 Stoke
Reading 2-2 Aston Villa

Will the actual scores have so many twos in them.

Premier League matches and Carling cup final 28/2/10

Did Man. United or Aston Villa take home the Carling Cup. How did the other teams do.

In the premier league

Liverpool 2-1 Blackburn
Liverpool were at home for this match, and they are also on a small patch of good form. Blackburn haven't exactly been faltering. Their one goal probably came from their good attack and Liverpool's somewhat skakey defence. Liverpool can be happy with the three points.

Sunderland 0-0 Fulham
I can think of two reasons for this. One, they are rather equally matched sides after all. Two, I've noticed that Sunderland are going through a rough patch of results. Whilst, Fulham knocked Shakhtar Donetsk out of the Europa League. Fulham will be satisfied with the one point. Sundrland need more points to stay in the premier league.

Tottenham 2-1 Everton
Whilst these two teams are almost equally matched, Tottenham played at home. This gave them the advantage. This three points highly benefits Tottenham as it means that they get closer to 4th place and a place in the Champions League. Come on Tottenham, you can make it. It's not good for Everton though, who are at least pursueing the Europa League.

In the Carling Cup Final
Aston Villa 1-2 Man.United
Man. United were in their 2nd consecutive Carling cup final. This gives them a little bit of experience advantage. Aston Villa have surprised everyone this season and have been doing very well. Aston Villa opened the scoring. But, goals from Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney ensure that the Carling Cup went back to Manchester.

Premier league and FA cup games to predict next weekend.

In the premier league
Arsenal 3-0 Burnley
West Ham 2-2 Bolton
Wolverhampton 1-2 Man.United

In the FA cup
Fulham 1-1 Tottenham
Portsmouth 1-2 Birmingham

And the results are..................................................................

Premier League matches 27/2/10

These premier league matches included some big results.

Birmingham 1-0 Wigan
Good for Birmingham. They finally get three points. They hit a good patch, and then a rough patch and now, they seem to be getting three points once more. Wigan, are in trouble as they slowly drift towards the relegation zone. They need to win points.

Bolton 1-0 Wolves
Bolton are happy to get the three points. Wolves at home are a pretty easy opponent to beat. But, that three points has done nothing but good for Bolton. Wolves are also drifting into the relegation zone with results like that. Are Wolves going to go right back down to the Championship.

Burnley 1-2 Portsmouth
This is also a good result to what has been a very bad week for Portsmouth. Portsmouth are about to become the first premier league club to ever go into administration. So, three points is much appreciated for Portsmouth. But, I also think that Burnley are tripping up very badly. I think that Burnley might be in trouble.

Chelsea 2-4 Man. City
I saw this match. I would've never expected this result. Except that Chelsea's defending was very bad and Man. City have a great attack. And if you put the two together you get a victory for the side with the good attackers. If Chelsea defend like that against Inter Milan for example, they'll never make the next round. You can do better Chelsea.

Stoke 1-3 Arsenal
Except for ecently in the FA cup. Stoke have been vulnerable to good sides when they face Stoke at the Brittania stadium (Stoke's stadium). Arsenal also seem to be doing rather well. They're now only three points behind leaders Chelsea. Arsenal could still win it.

Predictions for premier league games tommorow and the Carling Cup Final.

In the premier league
Liverpool 2-1 Blackburn
Sunderland 2-2 Fulham
Tottenham 2-1 Everton

In the Carling cup final
Aston Villa 2-3 Man. United

So, the results of big games tommorow.

Europa League matches 25/2/10

Decent results. One english team is heading out Everton, Fulham or Liverpool?

Shakhtar Donetsk 1-1 Fulham (2-3 on aggregate)
CONGRATULATIONS FULHAM. You have to admit that when you knock the holders of a trophy, it's something special. They did well to win at home. Then the draw in Donetsk was enough to send them through. Fulham are through to the round of 16. Shakhtar are out of the competition.

Sporting Lisbon 3-0 Everton (4-2 on aggregate)
The english team that bravely went out of this year's competition was Everton. Their problem was that they underestimated how good Sporting Lisbon can be at home. They lost the first leg 2-1, but at least scored 3 meaningful goals that send them sailing into the next round.

Unirea Urziceni 1-3 Liverpool (1-4 on aggregate)
Yes, Liverpool are through. I was a little worried that they would lose. But, being Liverpool a loss was almost impossible against a small team like Unirea. Liverpool just got over one hurdle of a rather big race. In the next round, they play French side Lille. I'd be worried if I was Liverpool.

This weekend, there are premier league matches, but I'm short for time.

Champions League match and FA cup replays 24/2/10

These results came from Wednesday's games.

In the champions league

Inter Milan 2-1 Chelsea
Let's remember that Inter were the home side. Inter also have a very good record at home. The result didn't come to me as a huge surprise. Plus, Chelsea haven't been on 100% best form. There is still a second leg, and I hope that Chelsea can use their home advantage to win this tie. Come on Chelsea.

In the FA cup

Aston Villa 3-1 Crystal Palace
Aston Villa are almost unbeatable at home. They beat Chelsea and drew with Arsenal and Man. United at home. So, it would be shocking if they went out to Crystal Palace at home. Crystal Palace had a good run, but it's the end of the line for them. Aston Villa face Reading at home in the next round for a place at Wembly.

Stoke 3-1 Man. City (AET)
Stoke beat Arsenal here. They drew with Man. City in Manchester. I was positive from the moment a replay was announced that Stoke would go through. This is great for three reasons. One, Stoke go through. Two, Man. City are out. Three, they play Chelsea away in the next round which sets up a thriller of a clash.

Tottenham 4-0 Bolton
Anybody that said that Tottenham would go out to Bolton are idiots. Tottenham are a very strong side. They may have drawn away from home, but Bolton are building up a decent home record. Tottenham at home are very lethal. They beat Wigan 9-1 this season at White Hart Lane (Tottenham's stadium). If they went out to Bolton I would have been very shocked.

Predictions for tommorow's Europa League matches

Shakhtar Donetsk 2-1 Fulham
Sporting Lisbon 3-1 Everton
Unirea Urziceni 2-2 Liverpool

Premier League match 23/2/10

One Premier League match.
Man. United 3-0 West Ham
Oh well. I guess I was dreaming some really good dreams when I predicted that the score would be 2-2. Let's face the facts. Man. United are a superb team at home. West Ham have been in the relegation spots, very regularly this season. Man. United demolished West Ham. Well, better luck next time.

We have a Champions League match and some FA cup replays. Predictions.

In the Champions League
Inter Milan 1-2 Chelsea

In the FA cup replays
Aston Villa 2-0 Crystal Palace
Stoke 1-1 Man. City (AET) 5-4 to Stoke on penalties
Tottenham 3-1 Bolton

What will the premier league teams do.

Premier league matches 21/2/10

I would never have guessed last night's results.

Aston Villa 5-2 Burnley
Like Fulham, Aston Villa are very strong at home compared to Burnley who don't travel well. Fulham beat them 3-0 last week. This week, Aston Villa knocked five past Burnley. Burnley need to improve their away games record if they want to stay in the premier league this season.

Blackburn 3-0 Bolton
Last time I checked, Blackburn were about as good as Bolton. Even in the snowy conditions in Lancashire, could Blackburn really have knocked three goals past Bolton keeper Jaaskelainen.
Bolton must be really bad. Blackburn did well to get three more points towards safety.

Fulham 2-1 Birmingham
I said last week that Fulham were good at home. I didn't realise that good at home meant they could beat Birmingham at home. Are Birmingham really starting to falter? Are Fulham just getting better as they pursue a place in the Europa League? I don't know but the score was 2-1 to Fulham.

Man. City 0-0 Liverpool
Well..........................at the end of the day you could say that these teams are equally matched. In the match for fourth place I would've hoped to see a winner. I'm just looking at a match report on www.bbc.co.uk/sport that expressess the goalless draw as tedious or a miserable stalemate. Who's in fourth place now? Tottenham, but Man. City have a game in hand.

Wigan 0-3 Tottenham
I said that Tottenham wouldn't as well as they eventually did. But, I was wrong. Let's remember that Tottenham beat Wigan 9-1 at home. Plus, Tottenham are chasing Champions League football next season. A 3-0 win against Wigan away is not unusual for a team like Tottenham. The other piece of good news is that Tottenham are in fourth place.

On tuesday, there is one premier league match
Man. United 2-2 West Ham

Will I get 1/1 for my result.

Sunday, February 21, 2010

Premier league matches 20/2/10

These are the results from last night's premier league.

Arsenal 2-0 Sunderland

Arsenal are a rather powerful side at home. I've also noticed that Sunderland have been faltering lately. The result a 2-0 win at home for Arsenal. Sunderland have to get on better form an improve.

Everton 3-1 Man. United

OH MY GOSH. I never thought when I first started this blog that I'd ever have to publish a score like this. Everton hammered Man. United at Goodison Park. This is good for Arsenal and Chelsea. This shows that Everton are on fantastic form, we shall wait to see if it can stay that way. Thank you Everton. Sorry Man. United, try to win your next game.

Portsmouth 1-2 Stoke

We all thought that Portsmouth had improved. That they were getting back on better form. That their financial system wasn't crumbling so badly. Now, they are threatened with a nine point deduction, and they just lost 2-1 at home to Stoke. Portsmouth's situation has to improve. Stoke, will be happy with the three points.

West Ham 3-0 Hull

WOW. This is a superb result for West Ham. They've been picking up lousy results lately, and now a 3-0 win over Hull. This is a new dawn for Gianfranco Zola and West Ham. Well done West Ham, keep up the good results and you won't get relegated. Hull, better luck next time.

Wolves 0-2 Chelsea
Great day for Chelsea. With the Man. United loss, and the Chelsea win, Chelsea have been able to open the gap between the two teams a little further. Wolves have been shakey lately so I saw the 2-0 win for Chelsea coming. Chelsea with a bigger gap at the top of the table can now breathe a little bit easier.

Predictions for Super Sunday are...
Aston Villa 2-0 Burnley
Blackburn 1-1 Bolton
Fulham 1-2 Birmingham
Man. City 2-1 Liverpool
Wigan 1-1 Tottenham

How will I do.

Europa League matches 18/2/10

Thursday means Europa League football. Let's see how the English clubs did.

Fulham 2-1 Shakhtar Donetsk
Fulham may not be the best team in the premier league. But, they have done well when it comes to Europe. Shakhtar Donetsk are not the easiest team to beat. They won the Europa League last season. So, for Fulham to beat the Europa League winners at home is very impressive. Well done Fulham, good luck for the second leg.

Liverpool 1-0 Unirea Urziceni
Unirea were impressive throughout the group stage. Yet, let's compare these two teams. Liverpool who've won five European cups, and 18 premier leagues, versus a Romanian side who won their local championship last season. OBVIOUS WINNER. Liverpool shouldn't have had to wait until the 81st minute to get a goal.

The weekend premier league games are coming up. They include (with predictions)

Arsenal 3-1 Sunderland
Everton 1-1 Man. United
Portsmouth 1-2 Stoke
West Ham 1-1 Hull
Wolverhampton 0-3 Chelsea

Goodbye 'til then

Champions League and premier league matches 17/2/10

Two good results. For who?

In the Champions League

Porto 2-1 Arsenal

I thought long and hard about what this result would be. I at least thought that Arsenal would draw. But Porto can be underestimated, I think that's what Arsenal suffered from last night. I saw a little bit of the match, and it was ten times more exciting than the Bayern Munich vs. Fiorentina game or....

In the Premier League

Wigan 0-0 Bolton

These two teams haven't really been doing so well at anything. I think that these two teams are evenly matched, yet both very average. I think that shows why they drew.

Most of the Europa League matches take place tomorrow, to predict two of them is a task I am about to endure.

Fulham 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk
Liverpool 2-1 Unirea Urziceni

How will it play out.

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

Champions League, Europa league and premier league matches 16/2/10

I predicted at least one of these results.

In the Champions League

AC Milan 2-3 Man. United

Man. United have been doing quite well lately. AC Milan took the lead in this match. But, Rooney's two headers ensured that Man. United will return to Manchester with a one goal advantage. AC Milan have to win by two goals if they want to go through. Sadly, I don't think that it's going to happen.

In the Europa League

Everton 2-1 Sporting Lisbon
I've got to admit. Everton are impressive. Sporting Lisbon have weapons like Joao Moutinho and Liedson. Everton, aren't even doing very well in the premier league. So to hold Sporting Lisbon who were in the Champions League last season, for 86 minutes before conceding a penalty which was scored. Everton have a good chance of making it through to the next round thanks to this result.

In the Premier League

Stoke 1-1 Man. City
Stoke are very strong at home. They were actually very close to winning this game. Stoke held Man. City for 85 minutes before Gareth Barry made sure that Man. City left the Brittania stadium with one point. Ten man Stoke had a last minute goal disallowed. So overall. UNLUCKY for Stoke. Let's hope they can score one more goal when Man. City come back for the FA cup replay.

Predictions for Champions League and Premier League matches

In the Champions League
Porto 2-2 Arsenal

In the Premier League
Wigan 1-1 Bolton

Can I get both predictions right.

Monday, February 15, 2010

FA cup matches 14/2/10

The magic of the FA cup weaved it's magic through last night's games.

Bolton 1-1 Tottenham
This isn't good for Tottenham. This is hard core evidence that they are faltering. They've lost to Wolves away and drawn with Aston Villa at home. Tottenham are faltering, and if they don't fix it by the time of the replay, they could risk losing their place in the FA cup. The result is rather good news for Bolton, who get one more chance to knock spurs (Tottenham's nickname) out of the FA cup.

Crystal Palace 2-2 Aston Villa
I told you so. Crystal Palace-as we saw in the last round against Wolves-are very strong at home. If they can beat Wolves, they can at least draw with Aston Villa. Although, they almost won it. Had it not been for a Stlyian Petrov goal three minutes from full time, Crystal Palace would be cruising through to the next round. But, a replay was forced. Good job Villa. Unlucky Crystal Palace.

Fulham 4-0 Notts. County
I thought that Fulham were a vulnerable side. They were almost the victims of an upset at Accrington Stanley. But, with confidence at home. They were able to power past the shakey League two side. Fulham were able to stroll past Notts County. They face the winner of the Bolton vs Tottenham replay.

Next I have Champions League, Europa League and even one premier league match for you on tuesday. The following shall happen.

In the champions league
AC Milan 2-1 Man. United

In the Europa league
Everton 2-1 Sporting Lisbon

In the Premier league
Stoke 1-1 Man. City

I was right for one of last night's results. How many will I correctly predict this time.

Sunday, February 14, 2010

FA cup matches 13/2/10

A very interesting group of results.

Chelsea 4-1 Cardiff
The blues (Chelsea) dominated this match. They scored superb goals and their passing was quick and productive. The only time Chelsea looked shakey was coming towards the end of the first half, after the goal had been scored. But, if they can keep their good and productive style of play, they're going to give Inter Milan a hard time in the Champions league in two weeks time.

Derby 1-2 Birmingham
I saw a little bit of this match, including the superb Derby goal. The two teams looked pretty evenly matched. But, Birmingham drew with Tottenham recently. They're not quitters. Congratulations on the comeback, Birmingham. Bad luck Derby, see you next year.

Man. City 1-1 Stoke
Really. Because the last time Stoke visited. The score was 2-0 to the home side. However let's remember Stoke knocked Arsenal out of the cup. So, there's been some improvement. The question is, will Man. City be worried that they could suffer Arsenal's fate. You can do it Stoke.

Southampton 1-4 Portsmouth
For the first time in years we get to witness a south coast derby. Both these teams have been finacially troubled. Southampton went into administration recently. Portsmouth were on the brink of heading down that same path. So, it's a fairytale end to a troublesome week for Portsmouth. Heading to Saint Mary's (Southampton's stadium) and knocking four goals past their biggest rivals. Well done Portsmouth.

Tommorow there are more FA cup matches. Will Valentines day give smaller teams a little bit of love?

Bolton 1-2 Tottenham
Crystal Palace 2-2 Aston Villa
Fulham 1-2 Notts County

Great predictions if I do say so myself. Bye.

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Premier league matches 10/2/10

From a dramatic round of Premier League matches.

Arsenal 1-0 Liverpool
Arsenal needed something to lift their title hopes again. They were desperate for a win against Liverpool. When Arsenal want to do something against a team (except Man. United or Chelsea) they can do it. Congratulations Arsenal. It was even better for them when they heard the other results.

Aston Villa 1-1 Man. United
Every 'big four' side has screwed up at Villa Park this season. Chelsea lost, Arsenal drew, Liverpool won but have slowly disintergrated out of the 'big four' and United also drew. Aston Villa took a decent step towards Champions League qualification. Man. United missed a great chance too go top of the table.

Blackburn 1-0 Hull
I didn't expect that to come. But I suppose being two evenly matched sides, the win would go to the team with home advantage. Hull have been on a decent string of good results, but that has to end someday.

Everton 2-1 Chelsea
This is simple. Chelsea don't do well away from home at some places. They haven't lost any home games this season. They can't throw away points like that if they want to win the league. They were lucky that Man. United drew with Aston Villa. I don't think they'll get so much luck again.

West Ham 2-0 Birmingham
Well done West Ham. They've been doing quite badly all season. Now, they've won against a decently big team. Are Birmingham starting to falter? I don't know, but unless West Ham want to be in relegated to the Championship next season, they must start winning games. Was this the first of many?

Wolves 1-0 Tottenham
What happened here? Tottenham drew with Aston Villa last week. Wolves lost to Birmingham. So there was either a big turn-around at Wolves or something is wrong at Tottenham or both.
Whatever happened is was good for Wolves. Bad for Tottenham as they missed the chance to go to 4th place and Aston Villa are catching up.

FA cup matches this weekend. On saturday the games are (with predictions)
Chelsea 3-0 Cardiff
Derby 2-2 Birmingham
Man. City 2-1 Stoke
Southampton 2-1 Portsmouth

See ya then.

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Premier League matches 9/2/10

The first round of midweek results are in.

Man. City 2-0 Bolton
Man. City at home haven't been easy to beat. So, when a team like Bolton comes, who drew with Fulham last week, it's a walk in the park for Man. City. With each victory, they're getting closer and closer to champions league-the premier european football competition-football next season. But with Liverpool, Tottenham and Aston Villa also in line for that 4th place, it won't be easy.

Fulham 3-0 Burnley
Burnley are so good at home, yet so vulnerable away. Fulham are a team that have a decent home record. Result............................................win to the home side. Fulham in the mean time, march closer and closer to Europa League-the secondary european football competition-football next season.

Wigan 1-1 Stoke
I expected Stoke to edge this game. Wigan haven't been doing so well lately. Stoke who have been doing at least a little bit better should've edged it. But, Chelsea failed to even draw at the JJB stadium (wigan's stadium) and Wigan have a decent home record. I think a win would've been nice for Stoke, but they earned a point coming into saturday's FA cup matches.

Portsmouth 1-1 Sunderland
A Portsmouth side who got thrashed in Manchester, versus a Sunderland side that have been going rather faulty lately that travelled about the longest distance that a premier league team has to travel to get to a game. That sounds like two evenly matched sides and that leads to a draw. Case closed.

Predictions for Wednesday's BIG games are..............................
Everton 1-2 Chelsea
Aston Villa 2-2 Man. United
Arsenal 2-1 Liverpool
Wolves 0-2 Tottenham
West Ham 1-1 Birmingham
Blackburn 1-1 Hull

Shall my crystal ball be correct.

Mega issue: premier league games 6-7 february

I'm back from Singapore. And I sure missed a lot.

On day 1

Bolton 0-0 Fulham

These are both two very average teams that haven't been doing so well lately. The 0-0 draw was easily seen coming. Not any surprise.

Burnley 2-1 West Ham

As I said last week, Burnley have only lost twice at home. One of those teams was Chelsea, so Burnley wouldn't go down against any team at home without a clear fight. West Ham just weren't good enough.

Hull 2-1 Man. City

Hull showed their dominance at home last week against Chelsea. I didn't think that it was enough to beat Man. City. But it was. I also think that Man. City are losing their touch as a great team. I think that Man. City need to improve if they want a top four finish.

Liverpool 1-0 Everton

Merseyside derby time. Liverpool have been doing very badly, but they're starting to win more games. Same with Everton. Liverpool however proved to be the team that edged it in this encounter. Maybe next time, Everton.

Man. United 5-0 Portsmouth

OH DEAR. What happened. Portsmouth are finding their feet again. Yes they are at the bottom of the table, but to let in THREE OWN GOALS is just embarassing. I've no doubt that Portsmouth are getting relegated this season after this result. Meanwhile Man. United keep the pace up on Chelsea.

Stoke 3-0 Blackburn

You wouldn't expect Stoke to win 3-0 against anybody. This result was evidence that Blackburn are slowly but surely heding towards the relegation spots. Blackburn need to step up their game. Great job Stoke, you're on very impressive form.

Sunderland 1-1 Wigan

This result isn't good if the name of your team is Sunderland. This is the second week in a row that they've drawn at home. They can do better. Come on Sunderland. Wigan benefited from the result as it meant that they got a point away from home against a pretty decent team. Well done Wigan

Tottenham 0-0 Aston Villa

This was a big match. A win for either of these clubs could've sent them to fourth place. A draw would've seen Liverpool take fourth. Sadly, these teams were evenly matched and Liverpool took fourth place. I hope to see one of these great teams playing in the champions league next season.

On Day 2

Birmingham 2-1 Wolverhampton

If this game was 80 minutes, Wolverhampton would have won this game. Birmingham left it very, very late. Wolverhampton think that maybe they could finally win a game. And Kevin Phillips gets two goals in ten minutes to break Wolves hearts. That was very LUCKY for Birmingham.

Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal

The clash of the TITANS. Blues vs Gunners, 1st vs. 3rd, North London vs. West London. Didier Drogba of Chelsea steps up and bangs two past the gunners, making it look really easy. Well done Chelsea. Arsenal said that a loss here could mean the end of their title hopes. They might be right.

Predictions.

Man. City 3-1 Bolton

Fulham 2-0 Burnley

Wigan 1-2 Stoke

Portsmouth 0-1 Sunderland.

Bye for now.
